Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name or a date of birth into a search box on this site, that text goes directly to the outside company that runs the tool. The provider processes the request and returns the results. We do not keep a copy of what you typed.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you write to us, we hold on to the message long enough to answer it. Your note stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, our servers record some basic technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser type and version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long you stayed
- The site that referred you, if there was one
- The time of each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on your device that show how visitors move through the site, including which pages draw the most traffic. Analytics services help us combine that information. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though a few parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site available and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages are useful and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, compile, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant-record information. We publish general guidance about where Houston County warrant records are kept and how to check them through the district court, the county sheriff, and Minnesota's court records system. Official records themselves are governed by Minnesota law, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, and they are not held here.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site are operated by outside companies. Anything you enter there is handled under that partner's own privacy policy rather than this one. Those companies decide how long they keep data and who they share it with, and we have no control over those choices. Read the partner's policy before you run a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to court pages, the county sheriff, state agencies, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies to your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners may track activity across sites in order to display targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Some data may reach:
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that help us measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government offices when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices for the limited data we collect. No internet-connected system is perfectly safe, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur. We take reasonable steps to reduce that risk.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota law, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, governs how government offices handle the records they keep. This site is private rather than governmental, and it holds no case records, but you can still ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete the data we have about you
- Stop certain kinds of processing
